Description
Helping Hands mission is to fully stock the Darien’s Human Services Closet located at Town Hall by collecting household items through local supply drives and creating awareness throughout the community. The Human Services Closet is designed to meet the needs of low-income Darien residents in need by providing much-needed household items that are not covered by food stamps. Helping Hands acts as a portal for teens to explore avenues of personal growth through service and strives to provide skill-based opportunities that will increase leadership skills, self-confidence and self-esteem. Helping Hands will incorporate animals into their mission to help those in need with the addition of Helping Paws.
Helping Paws will be an extension of Helping Hands and will allow the kids not only to collect for people but also animals who need support in local shelters!
Open to 9th-12th grade students.
